Brian Carlson has served as a pastor for over 25 years, devoting his life to faithfully teaching God’s Word, making disciples, and walking alongside others on their journey with Jesus. A passionate verse-by-verse, chapter-by-chapter Bible teacher, Brian is known for his dynamic and visual teaching style that brings Scripture to life—helping people not just understand the Word, but stand in awe of its wonder.
Brian is the lead pastor of Church on the Hill in Montrose, Colorado, a vibrant and growing church known for its deep commitment to discipleship and its hunger for God’s truth. Whether he’s preaching on a Sunday morning, mentoring future leaders, or coaching someone through a season of spiritual growth, Brian’s greatest joy is seeing people follow Jesus—step by step, day by day.
Originally from Oregon, Brian and his wife Beka followed God’s call to Colorado as quickly as they could, drawn by the beauty of the mountains, the sunshine, and the opportunity to build a Christ-centered community. Together, they’re raising four amazing kids and doing life with a spiritual family rooted in grace, truth, and mission.
Brian is the author of several books designed to equip believers of all ages. Basecamp: A 40-Day Journey to Real Discipleship is a practical and powerful guide to following Jesus with purpose and clarity. Wired: Discover the Calling God Hardwired Into You helps readers uncover their spiritual gifts, passions, and purpose for kingdom impact. And his beautifully illustrated children’s book, The Desert Rose, invites young readers into a lyrical adventure that sparks wonder, humility, and a deeper awareness of the Creator’s beauty.
When he’s not teaching or discipling others, you’ll likely find Brian off-roading in his Jeep through the backroads of the Rockies, cheering for the Colorado Rockies, or making memories with his family.
Above all, Brian’s heartbeat is to see everyday believers empowered by the Holy Spirit, grounded in Scripture, and launched into the unique calling God has placed on their lives.
